Wow, I don't know where you got your information on these cast receivers, but from what I have read on the CMP Forum and personal experience, they are poorly made, improperly heat treated, (very soft and easily filed) and should not be fired. ![]() I have seen a few go in the 800-1000 dollar range. Be aware that there is some collector interest in these rifles as a'variant' O3A3. ![]() My National Ord is well done and about as good as a shooter as my Smith Corona. My understanding is there were no after market parts used. surplus parts, but no receivers available. They were very throughly tested by the H.P.White Lab and found to be strong ,sturdy actions. National Ord made the receiver by Investment casting.
